Smart on Crime in Waterloo Region

Frank Johnson

Frank is a retired school principal and former History teacher. Something about being a principal made him a huge fan of Dirty Harry movies but, at 5'8 he was guaranteed not to be mistaken for him. Frank has continued his interest in creating better futures for youth through volunteer commitments in the community. He loves to read (mystery novels of course), bike, walk and even run when his body allows. He has two sons who are revelling in his retirement because it means rides to and from school, work and Starbucks. For several years Frank specialized in writing policy (a necessary but unwelcome task for a principal) and in retirement has turned to blogging and writing articles for professional journals. Coffee, a MacBook and time are a dangerous mix. He is a member of the Waterloo Region Crime Prevention Council and works with KW Counselling Services in their parenting programs.

Frank's writing here reflects his own opinions and do not necessarily reflect the views or official positions of the Crime Prevention Council.
